Abin Bho

Director

Abin Bho (Abin Bhochhibhoya) is a Nepali filmmaker who directs, shoots and edits his own work, from music videos and short films to commercials, travel films and pageant introduction films. He taught himself, learning from online videos and by practising rather than at film school, and began making short films with friends after finishing high school; the earliest, *Time Travel* (2015), he directed, shot and edited himself. His travel film *Aura of the Valley* (2017), a five-minute portrait of the Kathmandu Valley, came before he turned to filmmaking full time as a freelancer, making travel films for Buddha Air among other clients. He made the Miss World introduction videos for Miss Nepal Shrinkhala Khatiwada in 2018, which spread widely online and was praised for its visuals and editing, and for Priyanka Rani Joshi in 2024. In 2022 he led Team Abin for Karnali Province in the documentary competition series *Imagine Nepal*, filming in the region for 28 days. As a director he has made music videos including Rikesh Gurung's *Feri Bhet Na Hola* (2020), Neetesh Jung Kunwar's *Rebirth* (2021) and Shivraj Jung & The Hillsiders' *Timi Badlechau* (2026), which he also shot, edited and coloured. His other work includes the short film *Vulnerability* (2023) and *The Director's Cut* (2023), a musical film for Ncell's Dashain campaign about a grandfather and his grandchildren. He sees Nepal's landscapes, architecture and history as a ready-made film set, and wants to raise the standard of Nepali visual storytelling to an international level. One of his ambitions is to make films about untold stories from Nepal's history. He also sings and writes his own songs.
