Khagendra Lamichhane's creative life began in theatre. After discovering performance in western Nepal, he trained with theatre artists in Pokhara and later studied at Rastriya Naachghar in Kathmandu. That early discipline gave him a foundation as an actor, playwright and director, and his solo works and stage productions established a practice rooted in observation, humour and the inner lives of ordinary people. Cinema widened that voice without replacing it. His writing and acting helped give Talakjung vs Tulke, Pashupati Prasad, Dhanapati and Damaru Ko Dandibiyo their distinct social texture, while audiences embraced the characters for their emotional honesty as much as their wit.
