Manish Maharjan is a Nepali high-altitude cinematographer and photographer who works on mountaineering expeditions. He is a climber himself and has summited Everest, Manaslu and Annapurna. In 2021 he was the official photographer for the Bahrain Everest Group, following the team on its climb to the summit of Everest. He was drone cinematographer on Alex Harz’s documentary THE QUEST: Nepal (2022) and cinematographer on THE QUEST: Everest (2024), and he worked in the camera department on an episode of the reality series Imagine Nepal (2022). He was part of Kristin Harila’s record-breaking project to climb the world’s fourteen 8,000-metre peaks, and he is a cinematographer on Savage Mountain (2026), the Sky documentary about that climb. He has also photographed Nima Rinji Sherpa’s #SherpaPower project. He also flies drones for rescue work. After the flash floods in Rasuwa in August 2026, he joined the Nepal Army’s rescue effort the day after the disaster, flying drones fitted with speakers to reach people stranded on hillsides and thermal drones to search the mud-filled hydropower tunnels before rescue teams went in.
