Narendra Mainali came to cinematography through still photography, study and deliberate visual practice rather than a straight commercial-film route. His public career account traces a shift from computer engineering toward freelance photography, then into motion-picture photography through a bachelor's degree at Oscar College of Film Studies and further training in Denmark, the Asian Film Academy and Berlinale Talents.
