Profile details
Director
I am Navin Awal, a Nepali filmmaker, writer, and director. My journey began with student short films, where I slowly discovered my love for storytelling, visuals, and the process of working with people to bring an idea to life. I later wrote and directed Bijuli Machine, a soft sci-fi film with a social story, where two students try to develop a machine that converts sound into energy. Through that idea, I wanted to express a simple metaphor: the voice of the youth is the real energy the country needs. In the film, sound becomes voice, and electricity becomes energy. For me, it was an attempt to explore imagination, youth, innovation, and the struggles we see around us in Nepal. It was also a learning journey, made with hope, effort, and the belief that trying something different is also important. Over the years, I have continued working in films, documentaries, advertising, institutional videos, and creative productions through Silhouette International. I still see myself as someone learning through every project, trying to tell honest stories and collaborate with people who care about meaningful work.
