Nayan Rai directs music videos and commercials as a director at Stellar Studios, the Kathmandu production house he co-founded with Anjon Limbu and Ashok Adhikari. The company operates as a full-service outfit, taking on advertisements, campaign videos, short films and documentaries alongside its music-video work. As a child, Rai built miniature cardboard movie theatres and experimented with stop-motion, long before he had any professional training in filmmaking. Two music videos anchor his work so far. *Je Chhau Timi* (2023), made for Swoopna Suman and Samir Shrestha with music composed by Suman Thapa, passed 5.9 million views within ten days of its March release. Later the same year, on 9 September 2023, he directed *Atteri* for Sushant KC, built around the experience of Nepali workers leaving the country for employment abroad; Nisseem Shrestha and Aaditya Shrestha assisted on the shoot, Ananta Paudel handled creative direction, and Anjon Limbu color-graded the finished cut. Rai has said his own ambition is to direct crime thrillers, a genre Stellar Studios has not yet taken on, and its output for now stays concentrated in music videos for artists such as Sushant KC.
